Idea of the Month

Walter Earley, of Marlboro, Massachusetts, USA, submitted the best idea in March. It received a rating of 3.0, or Excellent, on the scale of 1-3:

"Unarmed remote control aircraft seem to have unlimited potential. Mounting cameras on wingtips and front and back would enable stereoscopic vision. Depending upon mission, additional sensing capabilities should be added."

He comments:

Remotely controlled aircraft, as well as other remote control devices, join a lengthy list of systems developed and perfected for military use, but have much greater potential in the civilian sphere. Radar, computers, atomic energy are just a few of the others.
